TIMBER AND FINISH
Crusader select only the finest quality hardwoods, specifically chosen for its strength and durability. Each timber section is inspected, sanded and primed as part of our continual quality control procedure. The wood is then either treated and polished to enhance its natural colour or painted using selective micro-porous paint, as this helps the wood to breath preventing the paint from blistering and helping to weather the years with a very durable finish.
FRAMEWORK & ROOFS.
Each Crusader conservatory frame is constructed using traditional joinery skills and methods and comes complete with doors hung and all windows fixed or hinged into framed sections. All interior mouldings are specifically designed, hand finished and jointed in the traditional manner. The roof framework of the conservatory is designed to comply with the most stringent of building regulation requirements thereby achieving an extremely rigid and strong structure. More important we have now by using powder coated aluminium cover laths created a totally maintenance free roof.
DOORS & WINDOWS
The hardwood doors, available as single or double opening are mortise and tenon jointed and positioned in the conservatory wherever you require them. They are hung on brass butt hinges, can be inward or outward opening and the lower part of the doors if required can be panelled to recreate the traditional authenticity of the Victorian conservatory doors. The windows are available either fixed or opening outwards and can be side hung or hinged at the top. We also use high performance weatherproof seals to all opening windows and doors to ensure the conservatory will be resistant to adverse weather conditions. Finials, Dentil mouldings and ornate Ridge Cresting are of period design, adding that special extra touch of quality, which is the hallmark of every Crusader conservatory.
